Felipe and Sarah Yanez are CMS mission partners based in Spain. They work with refugees and migrants in Torremolinos. They also provide hospitality and a resting place in their home for mission workers serving in North Africa.
Felipe supports the work of a food bank in Malaga City and is involved in Bible Studies, informal discipleship and occasional English courses in Alhaurin de la Torre. Sarah runs the clothes bank at ABC (Asociacion Benefica Cristiana) which provides food and clothing to around 200 families a month, and is on the management group. The clothes bank, “El Roper” has gone from strength to strength. Regular prayer meetings are now held before the work starts. For more information please visit the website: www.elabc.org (It is in Spanish but there are plenty of pictures).
They attend a church on the edge of Malaga where there is a mixture of Spaniards, Latinos and ex-pats in the congregation. They have also started a small group that meets in their home.
Points for Prayer: (February 2018)
Thanks for the amazing welcome back from friends and colleagues. Good readjustment back into work and school routines following the extended stay in UK.
Prayer for Sam and Aaron adapting back to the school system. That Sam’s school will find a way to moderate his grades, given his term spent in the UK. Aaron is particularly struggling with what seems an excessive amount of homework this term.
The Centro Luz management team has changed. Pray for Felipe and the team in this time of transition, for patience and understanding between old and new team members, and wisdom for those taking the lead.
The ABC still needs one or two more committed Christian volunteers to help in the clothes bank, ideally people who could eventually take on some management responsibilities. Pray too for the possible start of an informal ladies fellowship group that Sarah hopes to start with another colleague.
Que Dios les bendiga mucho (May God richly bless you)
