Felipe and Sarah Yanez are CMS mission partners based in Spain. They work with refugees and migrants in Torremolinos. They also provide hospitality and a resting place in their home for mission workers serving in North Africa.
Felipe supports the work of a food bank in Malaga City and is involved in Bible Studies, informal discipleship and occasional English courses in Alhaurin de la Torre. Sarah runs the clothes bank at ABC (Asociacion Benefica Cristiana) which provides food and clothing to around 200 families a month, and is on the management group. The clothes bank, “El Roper” has gone from strength to strength. Regular prayer meetings are now held before the work starts. For more information please visit the website: www.elabc.org (It is in Spanish but there are plenty of pictures).
They attend a church on the edge of Malaga where there is a mixture of Spaniards, Latinos and ex-pats in the congregation. They have also started a small group that meets in their home.
The family will be spending six months in the UK from the end of June. They will be staying with Sarah’s father near Ipswich. This will give the children a chance to experience the English education system and to put some roots down locally.
Please pray for:
For the administration difficulties at Centro Luz to be resolved and for the provision of a larger van.
For more committed Christians to join the ABC clothes-bank/shop team, and for the people taking over from this month.
For Sarah’s Dad in the early months after the loss of his wife Jean.
For the many issues that will arise regarding their extended stay in the UK.
Give thanks for various gifts from individuals and link churches towards the following: setting up the ABC clothes shop, Christmas gifts given for ABC children and towards the purchase of a larger van.
Que Dios les bendiga mucho (May God richly bless you)
