Thw Winners 2016

Nailsea Skate Park Project was started by two local youth workers (Neil and Josh) with the intention of supporting local skatepark users.

It quickly became clear that what was urgently needed was a new concrete skatepark facility and after extensive research have earmarked the need to raise £150,000.

Latest update – July 2016

Saturday 9th July saw the official opening of the brand-new skatepark which a small but dedicated team have been working so hard to raise funds and profile to bring the dream to a reality.

The journey has taken us 20 months and in that time the community has raised a staggering £116,000 which means we only have another £1,500 to raise until the project is completely paid off. The church involvement in not only the Skatepark Festival but also Skatepark Project has always been so key, and our thanks and praise to each one of you reading this for the role you have played.

The 14th Skatepark Festival and Showcase official opening took place in good dry conditions to a packed park, and the skatepark users didn’t let us down; there were some brilliant performances to wow the crowds.

During the presentation at the endof the day the DJ for the day Sam, from Essex shared about his life, and faith, and  about how you can still be skateboard and scooter rider and love Christ.

Please continue to pray for this project as we would like to start a number of new initiatives such as skate school, and maybe some form of first aid training for the youngsters.

The support of the community and the church has been amazing, lets continue to give God the glory Regards Phil Williams

April 2016

The new park is almost here. The fundraising is almost done and the old park has been scrapped. Now the fun begins. Contractors are on site putting together an amazing design courtesy of Wheelscape park designers.

The park will now officially be opened at the annual Skate Fest on July 9th in Millennium Park but users will be allowed to use it before this date. Watch out for mini-launch details…

April 2015

We have recently completed a successful skatepark consultation with the users of the park and 3 design companies… Watch the video below! This formed a key part of our grant application to Sport England. It was a great evening with around 30 young people turning up to have their voice heard. The skate park companies showcased what they have done in the past and left in no doubt of what users want from a new facility.
