The Uganda Fund is a ministry of Holy Trinity, working with partners in the Church of Uganda in reaching poor communities with practical and spiritual help, and helping the churches impact their communities with the love of Christ. With an emphasis on medical and health promotion projects, we work with churches in Kampala, Mbale, Fort Portal and Kisoro.
From time to time teams from HT and elsewhere visit Uganda to carry out medical outreach camps working with local churches and local medical workers. The last team visited in January 2015, and carried out medical camps in Kampala and near Mbale, in the east of Uganda. See the video below.
Please pray for the work of Kabarole Church of Uganda Hospital in Fort Portal: the new X-Ray machine we helped to fund is doing a great job, sited in its new purpose built radiology building, along with the ultrasound scanner. However, frequent power cuts mean that it is less than fully used.
We have just given the hospital £10,000 towards the cost of a generator to try and improve the security of the electricity supply. They need about £5,000 more to be able to complete the purchase and install the machine. We are exploring with the hospital the possibility of a team visit to help in outreach and mission work from the hospital.
Please pray for wisdom for us to know how to continue our links with Bishop Cranmer and the church in Kiroro, where the water project happened, especially whether a team could visit there again to undertake new mission work. A visit to research the possibilities for a team next year is being planned.
Please pray for friends and the church in Mbale in eastern Uganda, still recovering from recent drought.
Please pray for wise leadership and good governance in the country and an easing of political tensions.
Thanks for praying!
