C is for Community …

… and also for Creativity. Engaging with the community is one of our core values, and Friday this week was a great day for it. In the morning one of our members, Adrianne Fitzpatrick, taught a ‘Writing for Children’ course at the Blue Room, a local arts and crafts shop run by Sharon Brown, a member of Trendlewood Church. All who attended voted it a great success, and we hope for more such events. In the evening, our bi-monthly Café Create arts forum featured Somerset band the Magpies, plus four other acts of song or spoken word, making up a rich and varied evening. More of that, too, please! Both events not only celebrate the arts in the community, they provide excellent nurturing grounds for local talent, as many of us can bear witness.
