Holy Trinity has a long established link with Knowle West and works with the community there on various projects.
Cathy Gardiner is the Priest in Charge of St Barnabas and Holy Cross.
Cathy writes: “We have three grown – up children, two grandchildren and a Jack Russell called Ruby! We are both born and bred Bristolians. I am passionate about the local church, building community, and seeing people coming to to salvation, freedom, wholeness and healing. I love helping people discovering their God given gifts and talents and be, in Jesus name, all they can be. I also enjoy watching films, eating out, camping, chatting and drinking cups of tea!”
Cathy Gardener, the Vicar at St Barnabas, says things are going really well. ‘We have a new monthly prayer breakfast, three Life groups Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and one aimed at Messy Church parents starting next month. Prayers for these groups please, especially that Messy Church parents will take the next step in their journey.’
Give thanks for a wonderful evening with the Ugandan AYC choir (pictured). Well attended by many people from the community, pray that the songs and testimonies they heard will stay with them and speak to them.
Plans for refurbishment and essential repairs of the church building, that we would find favour when applying for grants and find the right companies to competently carry out the works.
Please continue to pray for Cathy and her husband Steve, for strength and encouragement, and also for the curate, Sam and his wife Rachel, as their ministry continues to develop.
Pray for the Lee Abbey House as they look to recruit new leaders for the community and new members.
Pray for the area, especially young people, and for social and health care on the estate.
Thank you for praying for the church in Knowle West!
More about Knowle West
Lee Abbey community in the heart of Knowle West. The Community have been in The Convent for over a year now. Please pray for new people to hear God’s call to become community members.
The Inns Court Centre (Formally The Mede Community and Learning Centre) has rented out some of its rooms to the Bristol Children’s Centre. They have settled in very well, and they have a nice secure garden play area outside. Further use of the building continues to be explored.
The Surgery continues to be challenged by changes in personnel and funding. Please pray for God to bring in new doctors and other health professionals who can continue His work and bring good medical care to the people of Knowle West. These are very challenging times for the NHS nationally and there are practices very local to us in crisis and at risk of closure, but we are trusting God to see us through, and He is faithful. Thank you for your support and prayers.
