What an amazing week we have had this year at Soul Survivor. This year we took 7 young people to join with over 8000 other Christians in Peterborough to worship, pray and grow deeper in relationship with the Holy Spirit. There have been so many highlights it’s hard to decide which ones to mention.  From the noisy minibus journey to the endless card games and our annual water fight, it’s been amazing to see our young people form lasting friendships and growing together as their own community.

Over the week I have seen our young people connect deeper with God and growing for and more confidence in their faith. God spoke to every single one of them, prompting them to go up for prayer when necessary and to pray for the stranger beside them. I believe that every single one of them has been changed by God this week, even if they may not notice it themselves.

This was my 9th year at Soul Survivor and my 4th year leading a group of young people from Holy Trinity and I can honestly say that it was the best one yet. We have grown stronger as a group, grown deeper in faith and made so many lasting memories. Over the week we saw over 300 people give their lives to Jesus and the biggest highlight of all was seeing one of our very own young people join them into accepting Jesus into their lives. That’s what it’s all about!

Obviously I couldn’t have done it all by myself and there are a few people I’d like to thank. Firstly Graham Adkins and Steve Williams for taking a day out of Theo busy weeks to drive a minibus full of noisy young people and luggage to and from Peterborough in a single day. Secondly if like to thank Angela Fraiser for being a buddy and allowing one if our young people to join us and get the appropriate care they needed. Thirdly I’d like to thank the legend that is Vicki Kitchker for being the biggest support not only to me, but to all of our young people. She prayed with us, cried with us, and most importantly, cooked all of our food for the whole week. Finally, I like to thank the seven wonderful young people who joined us at Soul Survivor, you are all absolute stars and we care so much for you all. This week at Soul Survivor was the last thing I will do with you as your youth worker, but I couldn’t imagine a better way or us to finish things. It has been amazing to see God work in you all and to see you grow in your relationship with him. He has great plans for you all – never forget that.

Soul Survivor 2018 has been a blast and we cannot wait for the final one next year!
