At Holy Trinity Nailsea we believe passionately that the local Church is the hope of the world. We are therefore committed to building a mission community within which each member is nurtured in the truth of God’s word and the power of God’s Spirit, and so equipped to bear witness to Christ in a broken world. Our task is not to gather and retain people, but to disciple and release them.

We are a family church with members drawn from all sorts of backgrounds and ways of life. Belonging to this community involves commitment to one of the Sunday congregations that gather in celebration around Word and Worship, or to our Thursday morning congregation, and commitment to one of the Small Groups in which spiritual life is nurtured.

Belonging is never passive. Within the fellowship of the Church we are filled with a passion to be devoted to God, each other and a broken world.

Our previous Vision

Through this we created our 3C Vision Statement which outlines our vision for the church and work throughout the community. The 3Cs of our Vision are Christ, Community and Church.

We believe that each and every church has a purpose. A reason for existing. It is specific to each church and allows the Church to join in with God’s mission. It’s like being on a path. We can see to the next bend but no further. We follow the path in faith that God is guiding us. Our vision is this:

We believe that Jesus is our reason for existing. In his death and resurrection we find the answer to the mystery of life. We want all we say and do to point to him.

We are present in a particular community – the south side of the town of Nailsea. We believe a lively Christian church will bless and serve its community.

As a group of people who meet together in Jesus’ name, we want to learn from, and make our resources available to others locally and further afield.

Our emerging Vision

Our previous vision has served us well in shaping the church we now are. But a new vision is emerging to shape our church life going forward. In effect we have two aims for all our church members:

Growing as Disciples – We believe that God has plans for each one of us – to make us more like Jesus.  We want to work together so that we are growing as the disciples our Father wants us to be.

Making a Difference – We believe that Jesus wants us to shine brightly for him in our locality.  We want to take opportunities to be a positive influence on those around us, that they too might see Jesus.

We believe that this vision applies to all ages.  We want children as much as anyone to be growing as disciples and making a difference to the lives of those around them.

Our prayer is that over the coming weeks and months this vision will take shape and help us focus on where God is leading us as we step out in faith and in our service of him.
